Mini Profile
-- His alive name: "Shocks" Marley.
-- He was a stock-car stunt man who worked for Sonny Tremont's Auto Circus, and dressed in a costume he found in Haiti, which a "voodoo witch-woman" claimed could bring him back from the dead. "Shocks" Marley had a crush on one of Sonny Tremont's employees, Nora, but she was in love with Sonny Tremont's partner, Ned Pearson. Marley sabotaged Ned Pearson's stunt car one day, and he was killed in a crash while performing for an audience. Sonny Tremont, Nora, and Pete (V) (their mechanic) testified against him, and he was sentenced to death.

Ghost Rider Link:
-- Marley continued to wear his uniform (a costume he found in Haiti, which a "voodoo witch-woman" claimed could bring him back from the dead) up until his death in the electric chair. Immediately upon his death, he rose again as The Apparition, (apparently his own ghost) and set out to gain revenge upon Sonny Tremont and his friends. On his first attempt, he was opposed by Ghost Rider (I), who, as Johnny Blaze, was working for Sonny Tremonts. Blaze was driving Pete (V)'s car, and while he was able to survive the assault as Ghost Rider (I), The Apparition believed Pete (V) was dead. Blaze decided to impersonate Sonny Tremont for his auto circus, and make The Apparition believe he had killed Sonny Tremont as well just as he had Pete (V). It was successful, but The Apparition caught up to Nora, and slew her. Ghost Rider (I) and The Apparition fought, and The Apparition was finally slain when Ghost Rider (I) drove his motorcycle over his body, dissolving him into dust. (GR1 57)

Ghost Rider Link:
-- Darren Bentley suffered from a rare lung condition, which had been exacerbated by of Taurus's space trap (during their last struggle). His doctors gave him one year to live. Darren Bentley screamed out to the Heavens that he would revenge himself on Cornelius van Lunt and all who had contributed to his coming death. Yes, he screamed to the Heavens--but his shouts were heard elsewhere! Under direction from Mephisto, the demon Slifer approached Darren Bentley and offered him the combined power of the Zodiac for one year. However, at the end of the year, his soul would be forfeit. Darren Bentley gladly accepted. (Ghost Rider II#7(fb))

-- Darren Bentley, using various incarnations of the Zodiac, began to attack and either destroy or steal Cornelius van Lunt's holdings. His efforts brought him into conflict with the Ghost Rider (I) and Stuntmaster. Darren Bentley changed back and forth several times and held his own against Ghost Rider (I). However, when Darren Bentley assumed the twelfth and final Zodiac form, Slifer reappeared and told Aquarius (I) his time had come. Darren Bentley argued that it had only been a few weeks, not a whole year, but Slifer revealed that it had been a whole Zodiacal year. Mephisto appeared and claimed Aquarius (I)' soul. As a result, over the ensueing centuries Ares grew increasingly dissatisfied with Zeus's rule. He has three times attempted to conquer Olympus, twice in league with his uncle Pluto, god of the Olympian underworld; but each time he has been thwarted through the efforts of his half-brother Hercules and his Earthly allies.*

CLICK HERE for a complete profile provided by marvunapp.com

Mini Profile:
-- Ruler of a branch of Hell.
-- He possesses powers to be expected of a minor player in the lords of Hell. He leads an army of demon-servants, who do his bidding. He also rules the lost souls who have entered his realm of Hell. He can project blasts of mystic energy and has a limited ability to manipulate the minds of others. He can drain energy from others. He is immune to disease and aging. While he has definite power, he can be injured by the power of other demons, such as Zarathos, and he is certainly no comparison for the power of Mephisto.

Ghost Rider Link:
-- He sought to make a pawn of the Ghost Rider (I)/Zarathos in his intended campaign of terror against the Earth. To this end, he sent Tabicantra to manipulate him so that Asmodeus could enslave him. However, Tabicantra eventually turned against Asmodeus, who was forced to send VZarr-Than and several other demons to try to finish the job. Tabicantra sacrificed herself to destroy the demons, and Blaze was spared from his intended fate. (GR1 53)

-- Asmodeus sent another of his minions, Rzh'arr, to Earth in another plot against Ghost Rider (I) involving his replacement of one of Blaze's friends, Cynthia Randolph. Rzh'arr succeeded in weakening Blaze and bringing him to Asmodeus's realm. Asmodeus attempted to steal some of the power from Ghost Rider (I) and make him his slave. However, the Ghost Rider (I) burst free from his bonds and overpowered Asmodeus, causing him great pain with his Hellfire. Asmodeus sent the Ghost Rider (I) back to Earth rather than face further injury at his hands. (GR1 64)

-- Asmodeus journeyed to Mephisto's realm and attempted to convince Mephisto to relinquish control of thr Ghost Rider (I)/Zarathos to him. Mephisto saw through Asmodeus plot to gain Zarathos as a tool in his desired conquest of Earth. Mephisto set up a contest which separated Blaze and Zarathos, and challenged them to make it through a gauntlet set up by Asmodeus. If they made it safely to the portal back to Earth, they would be freed from each other. If not, they would be trapped in Hell, and Zarathos would become a servant of Asmodeus. Mephisto decided to make things more interesting for Asmodeus by mentioning a small penalty if he failed to stop the two from escaping. Unfortunately for Asmodeus, Blaze and Zarathos cooperated and made it through the portal (although Mephisto's treachery left them still bound together). Mephisto administered his small penalty to Asmodeus, which consisted of blasting him out of existence. (GR1 76)

Ghost Rider Link:
-- He enlists Paul, Joe (I) and Al (II) to help him separate Ghost Rider (I) from Blaze. He does this because he is dying and needs mystical energy to renew his life force. He knows that if Blaze and Ghost Rider (I) are separated that they will grow weak enough for him to overwhelm them and take their energy for his own. However, Blaze destroys Azaziah, the Crimson Mage's globe of power, causing him to crumble to dust. (GR1 43-44).
